Happy April!
It is the first week in April and therefore to get back up to speed with the 34 for books I have read this year! Yes that’s right 34 so far. This obviously means it is time to do some reviews and share them with my favourite people (You guys). Starting with The Joker By Ashley Munoz!

Synopsis:
Kyle James cashed in my V card and then disappeared like I was the finishing act in a magic show.
I vowed to hate my best friend, turn the longing and secret obsession with him into toxic hate and maybe a poorly chosen tattoo.
But as the years passed, I let go of any notions I’d ever see him again…until he sauntered on campus my senior year as a new transfer student.
All of Rake Forge was obsessed with his inked skin and that darkness that seemed to seep out of every methodical step he took.
I wasn’t. I knew the boy underneath, and while I wanted to know where he’d been…I would never ask.
Until my dad needed a favour. His team required a way in with my ex-best friend and his contacts.
I knew Kyle would see through it…but I went anyway.
Suddenly, my world, made of black and white was bleeding colour…and he was at the centre, daring me to trust him.
My heart, blind and foolish chose to not only trust but to love him too.
I really should have known better.
I was merely a way in for my father, and for the man, I loved…I was just a way out.
My Thoughts:
Okay Okay, let’s be honest these reviews are coming in thick and fast. But each one is different in its own right.
WE LOVE A FRIENDS TO LOVERS STORY!
So we knew that this spicy/adventure filled book was going to be amazing. It also turns out that this was a book in a series but I wasn’t aware of this. So I read this as a stand alone and honestly I don’t think I missed too much.
Rylie and Kyle are best friends. (which we know I am always going to be invested in.) They had been best friends from a very early age, despite being so different and their home life is night and day from the other.
If you have ever been in love with a childhood best friend, this story will automatically have you attached to their story and need to find out how their story will end. What it does not prepare you for is the heartbreak caused by a father’s betrayal.
When that happens, when they finally become one – one leaves without a word and the other believes that the feelings of wanting more were only one-sided. It is the most beautiful story of unrequited love that is not as unrequited as they think. If you have been here for a while you will know I’m a sucker for a best friends-to-lovers success story.
We know that I attempt to not give spoilers for my reviews so I feel there is limited I can say on this other than I loved LOVED this book.
It had me gripped from the start until the end.
Star Rating:
Have you read this series? What were your thoughts?
Love Always,
