Twisted Love by Ana Huang

Happy April!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. We are coming in thick and fast with the reviews of the books I have read this year so far. You will know i’m behind schedule on some posts but I am still so excited to share with you some of the incredible books I have read this year.

Synopsis:

He has a heart of ice…but for her, he’d burn the world.

Alex Volkov is a devil blessed with the face of an angel and cursed with a past he can’t escape.

Driven by a tragedy that has haunted him for most of his life, his ruthless pursuits for success and vengeance leave little room for matters of the heart.

But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest:

A crack.
A melt.
A fire that could end his world as he knew it.

***

Ava Chen is a free spirit trapped by nightmares of a childhood she can’t remember.

But despite her broken past, she’s never stopped seeing the beauty in the world…including the heart beneath the icy exterior of a man she shouldn’t want.

Her brother’s best friend.
Her neighbor.
Her savior and her downfall.

Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both…and everything they hold dear.

Twisted Love is a brother’s best friend/opposites attract romance with a hint of suspense. It’s book one in the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone.

WARNING: This book contains a possessive alpha/antihero, explicit sexual content, and profanity. No cheating or menage, but if you’re looking for a traditionally sweet, loveable hero, this is not the book for you. Recommended for 18+.

My Thoughts:

Ana Huang you have done it again. (Yes I know this is the 1st book in the series… no I didn’t read it first).

Yet another book boyfriend acquired!

I want to start by address the mixed reviews, I loved this book and obviously was drawn to it from book tok but looking at the reviews on goodreads I was almost put off. PLEASE DON’T LET THEM PUT YOU OFF.

Ana incorporated so many different book troupes within this one novel and oh hell how it made for a great read.

Alex Volkov, the Alpha male in the story, he has an incredible memory however this is not always the best thing. It has left him built up with a lot of trauma. He is yet to open up about leaving him closed off. This however has meant that I was hooked on him as a character and the need to give him a massive hug at like all the time.

Ava Chen also experienced trauma in her childhood, but her memory is not as amazing and she remembers most of these by nightmares and in her dreams. Her brother Josh leaves for a year and doesn’t want Ava to be alone once he left. Leaving her in the hands of Alex.

There is so much more I want to speak about from this book but it would mean there would be a bunch of spoilers. We want as always to stay away from spoilers but it is safe to say I am in love with this novel and we are just adding another book boyfriend to the list of book boyfriends.

Alex and Ava’s relationship has me hooked and so in love.

Star Rating:

Rating: 5 out of 5.
