Happy October!
If you have been around All Things Gee long enough you will know that I love the later seasonal months. Despite being a summer baby I love autumn/winter and the seasonal celebrations they hold. Not only am I a sucker for the colder months but I am a sucker for the idea of romanticising your own life.

As the leaves begin to change to their beautiful colours from the stunning greens to the stunningly beautiful reds, oranges and golds that you cannot help but stop to admire. there is something undeniably enchanting about the arrival of autumn and more importantly the return of the pumpkin spice and sweater weather.

- Plan a Cozy Picnic
Autumn is the perfect time to pack a picnic basket filled with your favorite comfort foods and head to a local park or scenic spot. Unlike the summer picnic baskets however you are more likely to want soups, bread, teas or well any excuse for cinnamon/Pumpkin spiced anything has my fault. However knowing the weather in the UK they will be few and far between.
- Take a Scenic Walk
One of the most romantic ways to experience autumn’s beauty is by taking a scenic drive through the countryside. The winding roads lined with trees displaying their vibrant fall foliage provide a stunning backdrop for heartfelt conversations and quiet contemplation. Research the best routes in your area, and don’t forget to stop for photos along the way.
- Visit a Pumpkin Patch
Pumpkin patches are not just for kids! Strolling hand in hand through a pumpkin patch, picking out the perfect pumpkins, and enjoying the challenge of finding the most unique gourds can be a delightful and memorable experience. Once you’ve made your selections, bring your pumpkins home to carve or decorate together.
- Cozy Up by the Fire
The crackling sound of a roaring fire, the soft glow of flickering flames, and the warmth it provides make for a cozy and romantic setting. Whether you have a fireplace at home or you find a charming inn or café with one, spending an evening by the fire with a good book or a movie playing is one sure way to embrace the season.
- Create Autumn-Inspired Crafts
Engage your creative side and work on autumn-inspired crafts. You can make wreaths, paint pumpkins, or create beautiful centerpieces using colorful leaves and other natural elements. These DIY projects not only provide an opportunity for quality time but also leave you with charming keepsakes of the season.
- Savor Autumn Flavors
Autumn is synonymous with a rich tapestry of flavors, from pumpkin spice lattes to apple cider donuts and hearty soups. Figure out your favourite Autumn flavours and get stuck into making some amazing food. This season is all about cosy vibes and well let’s be real sometimes we all need to be reminded to take a break.
For me as soon as it becomes available, I have to pick up a pumpkin spiced latte. Basic white girl I know but it officially marks the start of cosy season.
- Capture the Moment
Autumn provides a breathtaking backdrop for photos. Take advantage of the picturesque scenery by going on a photography adventure with your partner. Whether you’re snapping candid shots or setting up a full-fledged photoshoot, capturing the colors and textures of fall will provide you with lasting memories to cherish.
- Share a Book or Movie Night
Cozy up for a movie night featuring classic autumn films like “When Harry Met Sally” or “Dead Poets Society.” Or ask your friends and family for their favourite films or book recommendations and try one of them.
Love Always,
Gee xoxo
