Grab your favorite blanket and a cup of cocoa, because ‘Heartless’ is about to warm your heart in the most unexpected ways. Which can only mean one thing we are diving head first into a review.

Synopsis:
Working as a nanny for the world’s grumpiest single dad should have been simple. Except I can’t keep my eyes off him. And he can’t keep his hands off of me.
Cade Eaton is thirteen years older than I am and barely looks my way. Until I get him into the hot tub one night for a game of truth or dare. Then all bets are off—and so are our clothes.
He’s gruff, a little rough around the edges. But broad-shouldered ranchers with calloused hands and filthy mouths are this city girl’s kryptonite. So who am I to resist?
But it’s in our quiet moments together that he softens. It’s when he takes care of me that I realize his hardened exterior is just a façade. It’s when I watch him go all sweet with his little boy that I really fall for him.
Someone convinced him once that his best wasn’t good enough. But I’ve never felt more cherished than I do in his arms.
My contract may say this arrangement is only for two months.
But my heart says this is forever.
My Thoughts:
Tropes:
Okay so my loves time to strap yourselves in because this book ticks so many trope boxes. Including but not limited to single parent, small town, & grumpy x sunshine. Plus, cowboys and a gorgeous ranch setting!
And now for my thoughts… It is probably a good time to note I read this book in one day and that already says a lot but oh wow what a book.
Heartless By Elsie Silver weaves the most tantalizing tale of unexpected love, with just the right amount of undeniable chemistry. You know the movie kind of love that only comes in the most unexpected of places.
The story revolves around some of my favourite characters to date, we have our darling Cade Eaton a grumpy single dad who just so happens to also be a cowboy (This was a booktok recommendation after all). Our nanny miss Willa who is our sunshiney main character who can hold her own. (if you know me I am a sucker for a main character with a hold her own). And little tiny Luke, who I don’t know if I want children but I am so in love with this little one.
I am pretty sure that if you look up cowboy in the dictionary next to it would be Cade. I love the fact he is a grump but with her its different from the moment he hears her laugh for the first time he knows its something special.
The dynamics between Cade and his little boy add an endearing element to the story, showcasing a softer side to the gruff rancher. These heartwarming scenes not only deepen the connection between the characters but also highlight themes of family and the healing power of love.
While the plot follows a familiar romance novel trajectory, the author injects freshness through well-crafted characters and sizzling chemistry. “Heartless” is a delightful read for fans of contemporary romance, offering a perfect blend of passion, emotion, and a touch of rural charm. The two-month contract may be the initial premise, but the heart of the story suggests that love has a way of defying time constraints.
This is the first book in this series I have read and let’s be real I will be picking up the others ASAP!
