Hello My Fellow Book Lover,
I’m absolutely buzzing to share my latest reading adventure with you. Hold onto your hats because this one’s a whirlwind of emotions and intrigue! I’ve just turned the last page of a book that swept me off my feet and into a world of dark magic, hidden secrets, and morally grey characters that you can’t help but fall for. “The Wicked In Me” is the title of this enthralling read, a paranormal dark romance fantasy that spices things up in ways I didn’t see coming!

Synopsis:
No one really knows what they are. Only that they’re the first civilization. Aeons, they call themselves. They’re immortal. Powerful. Secretive.
And they’ll come for her.
Witch Wynter Dellavale knows that for certain. Because in unfairly trying to execute her, they started a chain of events they’re struggling to stop. Needing safety, she flees to Devil’s Cradle, the home of monsters. A place for the outcasts, the fugitives, the crazies. A place ruled by the Ancients, seven beings who were once banished by the Aeons. Among the Ancients is the infamous Cain, brother of Abel and embodiment of jealousy – who, on another note, wants her in his bed.
There’s a heavy price for the safety the Ancients offer, but Wynter will have to pay it. She can’t take on the Aeons alone. And she has no intention of dying – been there, done that.
Not that she’ll be the easy prey the Aeons are expecting. They have no knowledge of the … thing that lives inside her. You see, when witches are brought back from the afterlife, they don’t always come back the same.
And they don’t always come back alone.
My Thoughts:
Where do I even begin with “The Wicked In Me”? This book was like a rollercoaster in the best possible way – full of dark magic, hidden secrets, and characters who live in that deliciously complex grey area. It’s a paranormal dark romance fantasy that certainly brings the heat, and I just have to gush about it!
Let’s talk about our main characters, Wynter and Cain. Wynter, a banished witch with more secrets than a locked diary, is as intriguing as she is mysterious. And then there’s Cain, an Ancient who’s been exiled and carries his own set of hidden truths. From the moment Wynter steps into his domain, there’s this electric chemistry between them that you can’t help but be drawn to. Their connection evolves from an intense physical attraction to something deeper, and watching their secrets slowly unravel was like peeling back the layers of an onion – each layer more intriguing than the last.
By now you know I love me some Dark Romances, but there was something about the premise of “The Wicked In Me” that piqued my interest. I’m beyond thrilled that I decided to give it a try. Wynter’s ‘coven’ absolutely stole my heart. They’re this beautiful found-family, each member so unique with their own quirks and powers. It felt like being invited to the coolest, most mystical family reunion ever.
The world-building? Absolutely fascinating. The way all these preternatural beings coexist creates such a vibrant and dynamic backdrop for the story. It’s like peeking into a whole other universe where anything could happen.
And Cain – oh, Cain. His emotional journey and development, especially in relation to Wynter, was a delight to read. The romance between them is hot and heavy from the get-go, but the emotional depth builds at a more tantalizing, slow-burn pace. I found myself deeply invested in their relationship, rooting for them through every twist and turn.
The book is a fun, sassy adventure with just the right amount of spice. It kept me on the edge of my seat, eagerly flipping pages to find out what happens next. But fair warning, it does have some pretty graphic scenes, so if that’s something you’re sensitive to, you might want to check out some trigger warnings before diving in.
In summary, “The Wicked In Me” was an unexpected gem that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’m sincerely hoping there are more books to come because I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters or this world. If you’re looking for a book that combines the allure of dark fantasy with the thrill of romance, then you definitely need to add this one to your reading list!
