the Fine Print (Dreamland Billionaires #1) by Lauren Asher

Happy June!

I hope you are having a wonderful June.

We are back with another book review. This time its a spicy romance but it is a lot more tame than our last.

Synopsis:

Rowan

I’m in the business of creating fairy tales. Theme parks. Production companies. Five-star hotels. Everything could be all mine if I renovated Dreamland. My initial idea of hiring Zahra was good in theory, but then I kissed her. Things spiraled out of control once I texted her using an alias. By the time I realized where I went wrong, it was too late.

People like me don’t get happy endings. Not when we’re destined to ruin them.

Zahra

After submitting a drunk proposal criticizing Dreamland’s most expensive ride, I should have been fired. Instead, Rowan Kane offered me a dream job. The catch? I had to work for the most difficult boss I’d ever met.

Rowan was rude and completely off-limits, but my heart didn’t care. At least not until I discovered his secret. It was time to teach the billionaire that money couldn’t fix everything. Especially not us.

Contains mature themes.

My Thoughts:

Now as always, we are going to try and avoid spoilers in this review.

However, if you like any of the following tropes you are in for a treat with this book:

  • Grumpy/Sunshine trope
  • Work place romances
  • Boss/Employee dynamic
  • Forced proximity
  • Oh, and if you’re a sucker for a billionaire romance this one is definitely for you.

I knew this book was likely to get me captured in their relationship because I’m a sucker for a grumpy type. However, in my day-to-day life I am not a fan of a theme park but since this gave off Disney Park vibes, I chose to ignore that.

Zahra is the definition of a ball of sunshine. Incredibly kind.

Rowan well this man basically keeps everyone at a distance, is mad at the world and well comes off as just the worst kind of boss.

The back and forth between our two main characters is one of my favourite things about this book. Mainly because it reminds me off someone I know. I love how easy the banter between them flows. Even if sometimes it comes close to crossing many a line.

The story features some heavy topics with both main characters having past scars that are not quite healed.

*OKAY NON-PG WARNING INCOMING*

If you are a sucker for a dark romance, the smut in this book is tame, it verges on the more romantic side of things and a lot of it is built up tension. Yes, the banter finds its way into these moments also.

Favourite quote from the book:

What if jerks are my kink? Well, at least it explains your unhealthy obsession with Mr. Darcy.

If you have been around for a while, you will know I am a sucker for a Mr Darcy reference.

Star Rating:

Rating: 3.5 out of 5.

Do you like the Grumpy/Sunshine Trope?

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
