🎃🍿 The Ultimate Cosy Autumn Movie Night 🎃🍿

Dearest Well You,

There are two types of people when October arrives.

Those who want to spend every waking moment exploring pumpkin patches, haunted houses and spooky adventures…

And those who want to put on their comfiest pyjamas, light approximately seventeen candles and watch Halloween films under a blanket.

Personally? I’m both.

But today we’re celebrating the second one.

Welcome to Blogtober Day Eight, where we’re creating the ultimate cosy autumn movie night!

🕯️ First, We Set the Mood🕯️

The big light? Absolutely not.

We’re talking fairy lights, candles, fluffy blankets, fresh pyjamas and enough cushions to build a small fort.

Ideally, it’s raining outside, the room smells like cinnamon and there’s absolutely nowhere else I need to be.

Honestly, heaven.

🎬 The Halloween Watchlist🎬

Now for the most important decision of the evening…

What are we watching?

My autumn movie-night essentials have to include:

  • 🧙‍♀️Hocus Pocus— Because it’s not October without the Sanderson sisters.
  • 🖤The Addams Family— A little spooky, a little strange and completely iconic.
  • 👻Casper— Childhood nostalgia at its finest anyone else have a weird hear me out with Casper when you were younger?
  • 🌙Practical Magic— Witches, sisterhood and the dreamiest autumn atmosphere. And one of my favourite movies of all time.
  • 🎃 The Nightmare Before Christmas — Because I refuse to choose between Halloween and Christmas. Although this being said this is normally a November watch.

And if we’re feeling particularly brave, perhaps something genuinely scary. (however this being said horror is not my thing.)

Although I’ll probably spend half the film hiding behind a cushion.

Let’s be serious.

The snacks are just as important as the film.

I’m thinking popcorn, chocolate, something cinnamon-flavoured and a hot chocolate with a frankly unreasonable amount of whipped cream.

Maybe even a pumpkin-shaped biscuit or two.

It’s called embracing the season.

🍂 The Art of Doing Absolutely Nothing🍂

And finally, the most important ingredient…

No plans.

No rushing around. No worrying about tomorrow’s to-do list. No feeling guilty for spending an evening doing absolutely nothing productive.

Just a cosy blanket, a favourite film and a little moment of happiness.

Because sometimes the best autumn memories are the simplest ones.

And if that involves watching Hocus Pocus for the hundredth time?

Well, who am I to argue with tradition?

So, tell me…

Are you a Hocus Pocus girl or a Practical Magic girl?🔮

Love Always,

Gee xoxo
