2023 has come in full swing this week, so I thought it was time for some reflection on the year that has passed. What a year it was, full of ups and downs.
I have seen a few people do little gratification posts for all the things they are grateful for in 2022 and I thought I would jump on this.
In my Harry Group (yes I call them my Harry group as we bonded over our love for books and Harry Styles) we started trying to list 5 positives of the day and I guess this kinda works in the same manner.
We always felt a little better about our days by listing what we had done and also what we were grateful for. I figured we might also feel a little bit better about 2022 by doing something similar.
2022 came with a lot of highs but also some lows. A lot of change and a lot of lessons were learnt. This being said I had/ have a lot to be grateful for in 2022.
Let’s discuss some of them.
In 2022 I am Grateful for:
You see this one just had to go at the top. I am always grateful for my family, you see I have a very large extended family and I think its sometimes taken for granted the impact people can have on your life. Sadly last year we lost my beautiful nan but with that came one of the strangest feelings listening to everyone’s stories of her and their time spent with her. She was one special and incredibly loved woman. So one of the things I was grateful for in 2022 and forever will be is my family.
We are going to ignore how young I am in this photo but it is one of my favourites of us.
My Harry Group
Heidi and Daisy… I don’t really know the best way to express my gratitude to you both. It seems crazy that you literally came into my life in 2022 but it feels like you have been in it forever. From laughing till we can’t breathe Saturdays in our group chat, to the unconditional support you provide I love you both so so much.
Not that this also doesn’t cover the above but I am so grateful for those who have been a constant in my life. Although 2022 changed my friend group pretty drastically I would be wrong to not note my gratitude to the people who make the days shine just a little brighter. My Gemini Twinny although we may not be close in distance the universe sure does make sure to keep us connected. And the rest of my uni group who would have thought that almost 5 years down the line we would all still be friends, even if we don’t speak every day.
This one seems weird because it’s certainly been a love-hate year with it. However, I am so grateful for my job. Not only has it allowed me to meet some truly incredible people who I absolutely adore, but it’s allowed me to push myself. It allowed me to put my degree to use and plan my first event. I am truly grateful for the lessons it has taught me so far and the opportunities it has brought me.
All Things Gee
It feels odd to be grateful for something that I created but I am so so grateful for All Things Gee not only for the spark it brought back when planning for last year but also for the people I have had the pleasure of meeting through this.
I say it every year but I am so grateful for creativity. Not only the joy of my creative side but getting to witness and explore the creativity of others. Hey, it’s brought us many a book. That’s certainly something to be grateful for.
2022 brought with it a bunch of new opportunities which we just have to be grateful for. I am so excited to see what 2023 is going to bring my way.
Being able to spend time reading/Writing
In 2022, I fell head over heels back in love with reading and got to increase the amount of time I was reading. I also spent some more time working on writing up my WIP and that in itself is a stand-out thing to be grateful for in 2022.
What are some of the things you are grateful for in 2022?
